Paying for sales persons' mistake!

I requested a quote for the replacement of 4 shocks for my 1999 BMW 328i (E36) from SupaQuick Woodlands. On 11/01/2017 I was given quote QTE686 for a total amount of R5 034.01. Today, 26/01/2017, I went to replace the shocks and was told the price would actually be R5 855.57 (QTE715) as apparently the previous sales person quoted the wrong rear shocks.

I was not responsible for the error; so why should I have to pay for the sales persons’ mistake? After a long argument with the manager the price was reduced to R5 232.12, yet still R200 more than the initial quote.

I feel cheated and disgusted in the level of service I received. If an official quote is issued, then that is the price I expect to pay. The onus on the sales person compiling the quote to ensure he selected the right parts. I feel ****** having to pay extra for the sales persons’ error!

I am sure the Consumer Council would be able to assist me in adjudicating this matter
