Incapable and unwilling

In October I took my car to Supa Quick Wierda Park and had all 4 wheels balanced and aligned. I returned, as I was not happy with the balancing and was referred to their Irene branch where the tyres were re-balanced. I was still not happy and to cut a long story short, after a total of at least 8 visits the balancing problem has still not been resolved, albeit there has been an improvement. This included visits to two different mag repair businesses (as Supa Quick insisted that the tyres were fine, but that the mags were buckled – this was refuted independently by both mag repair shops, however). One of the mag repair businesses suggested that I should have the tyres checked out by another tyre shop, who found that one of the tyres was out of balance by 140 grams. After removing the weights on the tyre, it was only out by 65 grams. Seems like Supa Quick fitted the weight in the wrong place…. Outch

I have had several discussions with Louis du Toit, the branch manager, who always confirms his dedication to good customer service and getting this resolved. However, after almost 2 months, it’s nothing more than empty promises. It’s clear that this Supa Quick team is seriously incapable and unwilling to get this problem resolved. The time has arrived that this is escalated to somebody who is both willing and capable.

I accidentally bumped into the franchise owner, who promised me that he would ensure that his team would resolve the matter when rep from the tyre company is back from holiday. Can't wait. However, the fact remains that Supa Quick did not reply after almost 3 weeks. Customer service is obviously not a high priority.... With this market being so competitive and with many good tyre companies out there, I see absolutely no reason for supporting this company in the future.

The fitment centre kept its word. The manager put in extensive effort to assist me in getting the tyres tested at Bridgestone, the tyre manufacturer. Bridgestone "optimised" the tyres, which made a substantial difference to the handling. I am very surprised to see that Supa Quick outlets don't have equipment to do this, as I don't believe this was an extra-ordinary problem I experienced and the tyres are quite widely used. I am highly disappointed in Supa Quick the franchise company which did not respond to the matter at all - absolutely unphased. However a very special work of "thank you" to Louis du Toit, the branch manager, who went more than the extra mile to help in getting the matter resolved.
