Dishonest and unprofessional behaviour - double check what they tell you!

I took my car in as my warning lights indicated a problem with my brakes. I was told that I need to replace my front brake discs and pads and the front sensor. I was show a figure on a calculator and I arranged to come in the next morning. I was there early the next morning. The shop opened 10 minutes late. When I fetched my car the gentleman behind the counter said that my car wouldn't start and they had to jump start it. He said my battery needed to be replaced. I declined as it hadn't given me any problems. I paid and as I was leaving I was told, by the way, we don't have the equipment to turn the warning lights off, so they will still be on. On the way home I stopped at a car battery shop, they tested my battery and said it was 100% fine. I took my car to Bosch for a service a month later. Included in their quote was a new front brake sensor. I queried it and said it was supposedly replaced a month before. They showed me that it was definitely not new and explained, that's why the warning lights were still on. They also tested the battery and said it was good.
