Complaint Supa Quick Bruma - Bad customer service and unprofessional behavior

I went to the Bruma store last week and Friday to have my battery and alternator tested. They tested the battery and alternator. At the time I felt that they were assisting me in a pleasant manner. I did not receive the report for the battery, and the alternator report was shown to me. Moses did the testing and I was sold a new SABAT 646 battery.

After I left the store I was on my way to Pretoria and attended to work.

When I tried to start my car again it would not start. Because I was at a client I was able to get help and push start my car.

On Saturday I got stuck again however this time I did not have anyone to assist in push starting the car. I eventually opted to have my car towed to a repair center (Covered under my car insurance) which identified the problem to be the Solenoid.

I feel that this was the problem all along, and progressively got worse over time. To where it would not start with the key anymore.

I went to Supa Quick Bruma today 06-10-2020 trying to resolve the problem as I feel they took advantage of me and sold me a battery to replace my one, which was not faulty.

I asked if they still had the battery as I was quite willing to have the battery retested and if it was faulty I would have accepted the outcome. The Battery was not there and could not be tested again.

Up until this moment they were pleasant and willing to help. The owner got involved and started treating me like dirt. Telling me that he will give me the R350 profit he made back and I should shut up.

I requested that either I am given back my old battery and they credit the SABAT alternatively they can give me the funds back I had to spend on repairing the solenoid. Whichever option was the cheapest for them as they took advantage of me.

This was rejected by Jeethan and he continued treating me like dirt.

I requested that the invoice be made out in our company name as I would need to borrow the money from my company as I am not prepared for this expense. Owen and Moses was willing to assist however Jeethan scolded them and said “Just print out the invoice and give it the invoice”

He continued to treat me like I was a worthless dog and eventually left.

Owen apologised numerous times for the behaviour of Jeethan Maharaj and for their inability to help further as Jeethan directed them to “Just print out the invoice and give it the invoice”.

Owen also asked if there was another way for them to compensate for the additional expense and eluded to having two cars have their wheel alignment done as this is a R500 cost and would equate to R1000.

It is my opinion that Jeethan knew he was at fault as he offered me the R350 as compensation. It is further reinforced with the willingness of Owen to assist in this matter. However due to the arrogance of Jeethan he opted to treat this in a very unprofessional way.

The part that really gets to me is that I was treated this way even after I was dealing with this in a calm manner until I was treated like dirt. In addition the thing that makes this worse is that Jeethan knows there is nothing anyone can do as any action taken will cost more than R1500. Even though the consumer protection act allows for me to return something within 7 days for a full refund.

I would honestly appreciate assistance in this regard. Financially I am not able to absorb the cost and it will cause undue hardship for me and my family
