Sunrose Online - Deal with this lot at your own peril.
I bought a sandwich press toaster from this online catering supplier. I paid in advance. And then when the stuff was delivered was told I had to pay for delivery extra. Yes. I know. By now I should have known. They sold me this delightful no name brand toaster for the princely sum of R3700 which was only a R100 cheaper than the Anvil. But hey. It was in a big invoice with lots of other big ticket items. I am now hoping and praying that none of these give me a problem now. To cut a long story short I took the toaster from the box and plugged it in. It was burning hot in seconds. A good sign. But not if you set it on its lowest setting. I tested a sandwich. It burned it black through foil in seconds. I tried all things possible to twirl the thermostat knob down. It then started to warp its chassis and the metal on the top half started to melt dripping little pearls of molten metal. They streamed down the toaster and onto the side. Like a little lava flow. When I informed them I was told I have to bring it to them to examine. They are in Selby. I am in Pretoria. I kindly sent photos. They then sort of belittled me and tried to wriggle out. However it is common knowledge I opened my new restaurant today. To end it off they will only “consider examining” it if I pay for the transport there and back. Nice game if you can play it. I have to pay you for selling me defective merchandise out of the box. Can you believe it. Never do business with Sunrose online. You have been warned. Nearly burned my new shop down. You’d think they would be a little more helpful considering what I spent with them. Typical example of a company that forgets the client after he has purchased the item from them.
