Sunglass Hut is not interested in after sales service, only new sales
Went to Sunglass Hut about a month ago to ask about replacing the ear socks on a pair of Ray-Ban's I had purchased from them a few years back. I was given a piece of carton with contact details - email/call these numbers for assistance.
I emailed and explained the issue, and the response was quick - I was given a form to complete, but also had to provide proof of purchase for an old pair of sunglasses I only wanted to replace a part on. I responded, stating that I don't have the proof of purchase anymore, that the glasses aren't under warranty anymore, and that I only wish to order new ear socks through them - as they are in the business. Then: Absolutely no response, complete blackout, nothing further, not a word.
This reminded me of similar treatment about 2-3 years ago - wanted to replace the lenses on a pair of Oakley's (which I didn't purchase form Sunglass Hut), and contacted them for assistance (same process: given a card with contact details in a store). And then they also absolutely ignored me after I explained the situation.
Which leads me to think that Sunglass Hut is only in the business of selling glasses, if anything should ever go wrong (and let's face it, Sunglasses do break/need maintenance), you're better of buying new sunglasses than trying to get a response from them - after sales service with Sunglass Hut is purely academical, with zero actual intent to help. Both times I had to contact other vendors who were happy to assist with getting the replacement parts. Sunglass Hut however is not interested in your service if you're not buying new.
