Sold me scratched sunglasses and won’t replace.

Terrible experience with Sunglass Hut, Eastgate. Been a customer for years purchasing exclusively from sunglass hut. I had a wedding to go to and wanted to treat myself to a brand new pair. I found sunglasses that I really liked but it had scratches on it as it was the last pair on the stand. The assistant assured me that I could purchase the pair for the weekend and that I can come back and return the scratched pair as she will have a brand new pair available. Believing her I went ahead with the purchase and came back to the store after the wedding to get my replaced pair, when I went to exchange the assistant refused to know me or my story to cover herself “as this was never in their policy to sell scratched glasses to a client” now I’m sitting with scratched glasses for R3500 that I have worn once. The manager Escalated this and with only my word, they felt I was lying as the assistant insisted that she had no recognition selling the glasses to me scratched. So disappointed, really hated to come across as an idiot or a **** to this company. I will never buy sunglasses from this business again. They will tell you anything for a quick sale.
