Ray Ban faulty

I bought Ray-Ban sunglasses with polarized lenses that after a year and a half to 2 years the polarized film started to come off the lenses. I pay close to R2500 for them at Edgars, The Glen. I contacted you just after I noticed the problem and the news is that no claims to be entertained due to the expired guarantee, which in your repay to me, you say is 12 MONTHS. I see in this forum that you claim that your guarantee is 24 MONTHS. Why do you descriminate? In any case, you sell a product that lasts just after the guarantee, to make sure that we, your consumers will come back with some more money to repair the faulty product. Good policy because it increases your income. So, please tell me, what is the difference between ****d Ray-Ban and original ones? A lot I must say, in price. The ****d ones cost a third the price of the original ones and they last just about the same time. This is my second pair ever of Ray-Ban sun glasses: the first ones The Aviator series I bought in 1965; lost them 3 years ago, which fact made me buy this ones with this ****py thing of polarized lenses. If you search the net you will find a lot of complains about this polarized stuff in Ray-Ban sun glasses. The vast majority don't last long. This attitude of yours or the guarantee and quality of Ray-Ban makes me consider ever visit your stores again

I got a call from Sunglass Hut in less than an hour. Impressed, but let me wait for the final result. They promesed to help. I want to put it public that I am not making a warrenty claim since the glasses were bought over 24 months ago, as such the warrenty expired. My point is that a product lasting just 2 or 3 months after the guarantee expires is a bad product. If anyone searches the net for RAY-BAN POLARIZED LENSES FAULTY or DAMAGED, one will find a few complains like mine, so it looks like that it is not just a pair or 2 that whent wrong in the process of manufacturing. Sunglass Hut said when they called me, that they will try to assist on the replacement of the lenses. Both of them are completely destroyed as per pictures that i email them.

In any case, just for the prompt reply I give you 2 extra stares, so please don't make me remove them.

SunglassHut showed its true colors in this case. The same day that I logged the complain, they contacted me and arranged to start the claim against the guarantee with Ray Ban. 2 days latter a courier turned up at my place as agreed to collect the sun glasses. In less than a week I was told that Ray Ban had authorized the replacement of the damaged lenses. SunglassHut informed me that the process would take about 2 weeks, due to the fact that the replacement lenses had to be shipped from Italy; after that the sun glasses would be sent back to me by the courier. All that on time as planned. My only question to SunglassHut: can you start training people in TELKOM, Jo'Burg Metro, SARS, etc to achieve the same level of efficiency that you demonstrated in my case? South Africa would greatly appreciate that. My big thanks to SHELLEY-ANN NEETHLING at SunglassHut for the friendly and professional way that she handled the case. How do I change my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars, on this post?
