Transparency and Fair Play in Betting Matters
Betting Transparency - I wanted to share that my ongoing dispute with Sunbet regarding injury-affected tennis bets has officially been acknowledged by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, and an investigation is currently underway.
My goal isn’t to discredit any brand, but to raise awareness around the importance of fair settlement practices and transparent dispute handling within the betting industry.
I believe all punters deserve consistent and fair treatment, especially in cases where match outcomes are affected by unforeseen circumstances like player injuries.
Sunbet took all my bets as losing bets when 2 matches were stopped due to player injuries. Most of all the other betting platforms locally and international like Hollywood, Betway, WSB, Bet 365, Ladbrooks and more, all follow a simple principle by voiding and refunding all single bets and excluding the affected matches from all doubles and multiples and paying the other bets accordingly if they had all won as well. This is the general rule within the industry and is followed by 90% of most betting platforms and institutes.
I’ll continue to share updates as the process unfolds in the hope that this contributes to a more transparent and accountable betting environment in South Africa.
