Verbal abuse, ******* 50% salary cuts and despondent Finance teams

(All documentation and correspondence available.)

I was hired as a contract copywriter for Sun International's in-house agency by line manager Belinda Brooks. When resorts weren't performing as a result of Covid, I was abruptly informed I'd receive a 50% salary cut. This was not mentioned at any point as a potential liability when hired and when I enquired as to how this was happening, I was literally screamed at and sworn at by Belinda Brooks over the phone and then hung up on.

Belinda Brooks hired me to lead copy for the agency, and subsequently brought in a copy editor with no indication that the copy editor was who I'd answer to, completely backwards as copy editors edit what copywriters write. Eddie Maluleke, the copy editor was exceptionally disrespectful, condescending and dismissive of my work, leaving me completely confused as to why an editor is managing a writer (correspondence available).

In spite of churning out 100s of jobs to breathe life into Sun International in an absolutely emotionally exhausting way, I was very uncomfortably worked out of my contract as a result of outright mismanagement within the in-house agency and to add insult to injury, sworn and screamed at when, not understanding why EDDIE THE COPY EDITOR was tasked with informing me about my salary cut instead of Belinda Brooks, my line manager.

Now, with the same backward management approach, I deal with Sun International's Finance Department and Management. (All documentation and correspondence is available.)

I was assured via email between Tshepo, Ann and Eva (Payroll and finance) that my IRP5s would be ready June 2022. After sending emails not being responded to by any of them for days, seemingly outright ignored with multiple mail recipients, I am told to now wait for July 2022 having actioned my accountants on my tax returns who only asked that they be submitted. I've had to send many mails that just get ignored.

This feedback will be available on your brand-facing touchpoints for transparency with the public, seeing as all the way from Belinda Brooks, to Eddie Maluleke, to your Finance Department, management is not internally concerned with what you externally portray - the promise of financial security and emotional wellbeing.
