Sun City Visit

Always a great time which substantiates my investment in the Sun International Vacation Club. Stayed at Sun City from 21 to 25 November. The Units are in good shape and the housekeeping is consistently good. The Vacation Club pool area is a fun area although service from the Spur Restaurant is slow - they simply don't have sufficient staff allocated to the Pool area. The Lifesavers also need a bit of attention. Not focused on the pool & surrounds. The shop at the Vacation Club reception is very poor from a braai food perspective. all food available was locally packed & looked very dubious. The Valley of Waves was superb, although same lifesaver issue. The Main Hotel Pool & Pool area was poor. The pool was full of algae and hadn't been cleaned for some time. Staff at the pool disengaged and had to be constantly summoned. Entertainment Centre was very good and the Fast Food Vendors located there are mostly very focused. The bus service on the complex was very good, and drivers' great fun. The path that leads through the gardens from Vacation Club to the Valley of Waves made me think I was in a park in some dump of a town. Poorly kept & overgrown and does not portray the amazing Lost City concept as designed by Sol Kerzner. All of the gardens on the Complex were not of the standard as experienced over many years. I personally think the service provider is not doing what is required. It is a world renowned property for it's gardens. Staff at Sun City are the regular great Sun International winners, however the use of cell phones lets them down. Too many staff surfing on their phones. Otherwise in general, in a country where standards are declining everywhere, Sun City continues to stand tall. Well done!!
