Disgrace to hospitality industry

My husband and I stayed at the Golden Valley Lodge from 15/04/2018 till 17/04/2018. EVERYTHING was wrong from the moment we stepped into the hotel! We arrived a few minutes before check-in and was told our room is not ready, we understood since we were in fact early. We popped into the casino while we waited and returned about an hour later only to be asked to wait another few minutes because our room is yet to be vacuumed. When we eventually reached the room we were bombarded by housekeeping staff every few minutes to put things into the room that wasn't put there while they were getting the room ready.

At check-in we were told that the casino is open 24hrs but on Monday night while we were happily gambling a voice came over a loud speaker saying that the casino will be closing in 45 minutes (at midnight). Why were we not warned that this would be happening? We were then told it is for routine maintenance which is understandable but this leads me to believe that it was planned and we should have been told ahead of time!

Off to bed we went...I woke up after 5am in pitch darkness only to find that the electricity had gone out in the entire hotel! Once again, why were the patrons not notified??? Anyway, back to bed I go only to be woken an hour later by a fire alarm that was blaring for about 30 minutes! Once again, we got no notification if it was a test, a fire drill or an actual fire!

On top of all this we were given the ****piest room in the entire hotel! One of the lamps were broken (there was a chunk missing). The little kettle in the room was plugged into a socket which did not work so I had to hunt for a wall socket behind the furniture to boil water for my morning coffee. AND last but not least, the previous guests did something with eggs in that room because there was egg shells in the sink plug hole! Lord have mercy!

I have written to the email address on the hotel's website not once but TWICE but to this day had absolutely no response. I'm utterly disgusted in the lack of interest or urgency I am met with!

If in the event I get no suitable response I will have to take this matter to a broader audience!
