Being **** To

Sun International advertise the Peak Weeks as being "There are 11 Peak Weeks (P01 to P011) to choose from, these are fixed weeks during the Gauteng Government School holidays" but the Gauteng School Holidays is from 31 March 2017 to 18 April 2017. The schools start on 18 April 2017.

I purchase my Peak Weak at the Sun City Vacation Club from Rob Bremer after specifically telling him that I have children at school. He told me that we could buy Peak Week 06 as this falls within in March/April school holidays.

But when I phoned on Monday, 23 January 2017, I was told that Peak 06 is only from 14 April 2017 until 21 April 2017. Therefor I will only at best be able to use the unit for 3 of the 7 days I bought and that is if we travel on the last day of the school holidays!

I lodged a complaint with the Complaints department of Sun International and was told that I should upgrade to another Peak Week..no apology because they misrepresented the product on the website and with what Rob Bremer told me during our telephone conversations before I bought the Peak Week. For two years it was no problem, but suddenly now the week falls mostly outside the school holidays which is not what we initially bought. We NEVER got any notification that Peak Weeks actually now can fall outside the School holidays…it is still advertised as being within the school holidays.

At first they want me to upgrade buying something new from them after it became clear I cant trust them. Why will another Peak Week suddenly have any more security that the one I already bought? And then they had the audacity of saying they will deduct 10 months’ of levies that is actually only payable at future dates and some admin fee of R2 000. I would have used the unit if we could and if it was in fact what they promised it was. So they wanted to penalize me because they mislead me as the customer. What really upsets me is that there is a week in the school holidays that is not sold under the Peak week system and therefor somebody that bought a cheaper Flexi week can now go in a prime week during the school holidays whereas I, who actually paid a school holidays week can not go during the school holidays. And then they wanted me to pay in another R19 000 plus in order to get what they already promised me before for the price I already paid.

Finally Justin Evans from Sun International phoned me and confirmed that they will convert my Peak Week 06 to a Peak Week 07 at no additional charge and sent me the documentation to sign for this. I sent the fully signed documentation back on 2 February 2017.

Today when I followed up after 11 days, Louise William from Sun International gave me the brush off by stating it has been submitted which was exactly the same answer that I received a week ago.

And then finally I received an email from Sun International that they welcome me as a member with a expiry date of 31 December 2016!

This has been a very long 3 weeks with such bad experience and after this last email I can longer see myself dealing with Sun International. The trust is totally gone!

So I am forwarding this now to you in the hope that people are kept accountable for the promises they make when they want to sell you something….
