Bad Service

I booked Summer Garden in October via booking.com for a weekend away with my wife and coincidentally my wife had also made a booking directly to the establishment for the same date wanting to Suprise me, and knowing that we have booked the same place for the same day I cancelled my booking with booking.com but now Summer Garden has refused to give me the refund for the booking and I'm asking myself how was I to divide myself into two to honor both bookings on the same day.
