No Subs from Subway

I ordered two subs from Subway to take away for lunch for my wife and myself. I was told that there was only brown bread which I said was fine. They started making and then said they only had bread for one. How can a supplier whose staple product is bread run out of bread mid morning on a Friday? Needless to say I left with no lunch and will not return.
