No-Confidence in Motion

<p>Subaru's slogan, "Confidence in Motion" is certainly not appropriate. I bought my car three years ago, with the intention to keep it for at least 10 years, or until the wheels fall off. I did not anticipate this would happen after three years. My Subaru Forester 2013 model has 140 000km on the clock, and I have to replace the CV joint on the left of the car. I drive in the city and long distances, and hardly see dirt roads, let alone off-road. I cannot believe that a premium car such as the Subaru would need replacement of the CV joint at such low mileage. I have friends with much cheaper cars and higher mileage that experience much less problems. But what made matters worse, was that I have been told by a mechanic that used to work at Subaru that this model is notorious for CV joints failing, and they have replaced CV joints at 30 000 km! When my dealership approached Subaru for a goodwill claim, they refused it. How can you refuse a goodwill claim when you know there is a problem with the car you are selling? I am bitterly disappointed in Subaru. In retrospect I should rather have gone for the Korean competition with a 7 year warrantee.</p>
