Stylist Auto - Selling defected subwooofers as new

Please be careful when buying subwoofers at Stylist Auto in Alberton, Voortrekker road. I purchased a Starsound Monster subwoofer a month ago and could smell a burnt voice coil, being a beginner I thought it could be due to it being an SPL sub. A month later the sub burnt out completely. (Professionally installed and set)

I decided to return when I saw their recent special and purchase another Starsound Monster subwoofer. The subwoofer box was taped closed and I opened it at a reputable sound place in Alberton (FA), I asked why there were no spec sheets, no stickers, and the plastic around the subwoofer was clearly put back in a hurry. We removed the subwoofer and discovered a large amount of water on the magnet, the subwoofer had been *****ed in prior to purchase, it had marks of water erosion and light scratches, basically signs it was not brand new. It led me to believe that their subwoofer are defected. After 5 calls to Shafiek, he would not answer, I decided to drive back and return the woofer immediately.

When I asked for a refund, I received complaints about bank charges to refund the purchase, to which I had to eventually agree to remove 7% from what I paid to cover their mistake. It’s unfortunate that places like these are operational.

They’ve deactivated the reviews on their Facebook page to **** others into purchasing used goods as brand new. I will never return nor recommend. Please be careful
