Will not credit credit card

I bought ladies clothing on behalf of 2 family members who cannot go into the shop themselves due to ill health.<br> I paid with my credit card. I have shopped there for over 30 years and have always been able to get my card credited. The goods were not satisfactory and I took them back 3 days later. THEY REFUSE TO CREDIT THE CREDIT CARD, they will only give a gift card. The amount spent was R4 299.80!! They say they have notices up. I have been back and taken photos, no sign of the notices a week later. The sales lady at the checkout did not say anything either. Turns out this is a policy introduced in October. I have tried to resolve the issue amicably via email but they are not interested. They must be desperately short of money and need to hold on to every penny.<br> I leave for overseas in 3 days so I am forced to return the goods and receive a gift card and pay the credit card unnecessarily. After 30 years of shopping there I will never return once this is cleared. Shoppers don't shop there if you not certain, they are not the company they used to be. The group also owns Look and Listen as well as Spilhaus. What a pity not to have a good customer relations attitude.
