Ted Baker - hidden return policy

Last week Wednesday I bought pair of nice brown Ted Baker shoes at Stuttafords Eastgate with the matching belt. The following day I decided to put them on on my way to work. During the day I started feeling uncomfortable on my right foot. The shoes was sporadically making a sound like I'm having a high-hill on. I took the shoe out to check but couldn't find anything lose. Except to assume the noise was coming from the metal which is often put under the sole to strengthen and give shoe a straight shape.

Monday, 23rd Nov, I put the shoes on again, expecting that the sporadic noise and weird feelings at the bottom of my foot would disappear. Instead it got worse until I decided to go to Rosebank Stuttafords to explain the issue. I was told to go to where I bought the shoes.

Today, 25th, I took the shoes to Eastgate and the belt (which the colour came off on the first instance of using it on). The manager told me Ted Baker's policy is to send a consultant to come personally to check the shoes before making a decision as to whether to replace, refund or not to replace. Their time frame is 3 weeks.
im not happy with these. why wasn't the policy brought to my attention when was buying.
