Furious at this store!!!

I purchased perfume for my mother for her birthday but she was not satisfied, so I went back to Stuttafords for a refund to buy something better. However, I was only informed at the till that I could not get a refund only a gift voucher. Why was I not informed of this BEFORE I bought the gift??? Now I'm out of a lot of money and cannot buy a gift elsewhere as I'm limited to this store only. I am so furious I have no words to describe this shocking store policy!!! I will never return nor will I leave my money there EVER AGAIN!!! And now I'm stuck with this stupid gift card with no intention of buying anything because I am so put off.
