Complaint Gateway STUTTAFORDS - Misleading Signage

I went into gateway this morning battling the heavy black Friday traffic and madness. Upon passing Stuttafords we had seen a 3 boards offering up to 35% discount. The fist board CLEARLY displaying Banana republic, the second GAP (please refer to picture 1) and the third board being a red board (please refer to picture 2) saying 25% off everything excludes jewellery and watched.

I then went into the store with my wife and 2 sons, and decided to purchase a sketches burst air cooled memory foam shoe size uk9/us10 for R1299 (please refer to picture 3). Upon trying the shoe and then taking for payment we had advised the teller about the discount as we are cash paying and we are diamond tier royalty rewards members.

We had then taken a picture of the signage displaying the discount (please refer to picture 2) which was at the front of the store and shown to the teller, she being quite surprised at the discount and signage as she was unaware of the discount decided to query with the Manager Karishma. A few minutes later she appears with Karishma who then explains to me it is only for Tommy Hilfiger and she then shows me the tiny little flag of Tommy Hilfiger.

This was most disappointing and misleading, as a lot of my time was used during this busy day. I am a loyal cash paying customer who has never experienced this bad service in your stores. I appeal to you to kindly investigate the cctv footage between 9am-9:25am this morning Friday 25th November 2016. As well as I have provided you with the relevant photos of the signage I had taken. Please note that even your staff member was not able to identify that the signage was applicable to Tommy Hilfiger only and she had to consult with her manager. My patronage and spending at your store for the past 5 years can be seen via my details I have given you.

I would very much appreciate, for my being misled as well as being inconvenienced to be given the item at a 35% discount. When I had told Karishma that I was going to take this matter up further with senior management as well as HELLO PETER and the consumer protection council she had asked me to go ahead. So I have also close copied this to Hello Peter (please note I have just been onto hello peter and their are similar complaints from around the country regarding this advertising) and consumer protection council as well as the Department of Trade and Industry.
