Be careful- don’t arrive on time and inflate quote halfway through move once they have your furniture!

DO NOT MAKE USE OF THIS COMPANY!! STUFFY STUFFS IT UP. I sent out a request for a quote to a number of companies and got contacted by Kevin from Stuffy. He quoted me for an 8 tonne truck and we committed to a particular day and time (about 2 weeks in the future). The deposit was paid immediately. He later got back to me saying that the truck they quoted me on was no longer available and they would do 2 loads in a smaller truck. This was not a problem, as we were only moving 600m away. We were meant to move at 08:00 on 29 Oct, but after numerous calls from my side, they finally pitched up after 14:00. It was clear at this point that the move would not be completed because of the restrictions in the building we were moving to (restrictions which Kevin was aware of from the beginning). After loading the first truck, I then got another call from Kevin saying that I’d now have to pay double the amount of initially been quoted on. When I refused, he tried to get the team to offload all our furniture onto the sidewalk. After threats to involve the police, the team moved the one load for us. They never returned for the second load and we had to find another removal company. It was only later that I realised that Stuffy was not one of the companies I’d requested a quote from, so I’m not sure how they got my details in the first place.
