Very disappointing customer service

I visited a store a studio 88 in Port Shepstone, I was looking for a Nike Airforce one sneaker in full white. They did have a pair but it was the last one and it was dirty so I asked the staff to see if another store has a clean pair I am willing to drive to get it because I need it for a function. The guy who was assisting me told me that they don't have without even checking. How is that possible because the online store shows that the size I'm looking for is available. I just wanted to buy a pair and try them on before doing so. Very disappointed with it being my first time buy at this store and I am not willing to go back.
