VERY UPSET CLIENT: CLAIM T303329

Good day, I am writing this review with a very heavy heart. I took my vehicle to Silverlakes Autoclinic to fix a broken mirror and paid cash. While fixing the mirror, Silverlakes AutoClinic asked to also fix the scratches on my vehicle - I advised them I have insurance (Streamline) and would process the claim. I called Streamline on 4 June 2020 and spoke with Frederick Verster who processed the ***. I sent Streamline the quotation for the repair work as received from Silverlakes AutoClinic on 5 June 2020. I also sent the photos as per all insurance claims. On 8 June 2020, I followed up with Verster - he did not acknowledge my email and called the call centre - I was told their still busy processing my claim. On 9 June 2020, I called again (Twice) and still told their processing the claim - again Verster did not acknowledge my email, spoke with a Sipho who assured me that the claim will be processed before close of business. On 10 June 2020, I again called and again Sipho tells me they are still busy with the claim and furthermore that the Silverlakes AutoClinic is not in their list of approved Nissan repairers meaning my vehicle has been sitting at the AutoClinic waiting for the claim to be processed since 4 June for nothing. It is now 10 June 2020 and still have not had my claim processed as the last person from Streamline which I spoke with (Miss Khunou) said they are now negotiating with Silverlakes AutoClinic to lower their quote.

My biggest problem with how this claim was handled is that:

1. Verster didn't check from the onset if Silverlakes Autoclinic is in their list companies they work with to advise me accordingly so I pick up the vehicle immediately after the mirror was fixed instead of waiting for a claim for the scratches;

2. Verster ignored more that 5 of my emails doing a follow up on my claim;

3. No updates being done as I had to call everyday doing a follow up with no success;

4. The speed of processing this claim has literally taken more than 7 days and still I do not have an outcome.

5. The fact that they do not work with approved Nissan repairers is worrisome for me and will be raising it with my dealership to stop referring clients to take up this insurance as it is deemed literally useless for Nissan vehicle owners.

I do not often complain unless really tested and pushed to the limit and this is one of those instances. I hope this review assists the next person to think twice with taking up such insurances when sold to us by consultants in our various dealerships. As an itinerary senior staff members and a key figure in the Health union space, I will also advise my colleagues and union members in both the public and the private sector to guard against being sold such policies as this one where customer service is very poor and customers end up having to jump heave and the moon to access the service, and guess what? I still have not received the service... so yah, my next email is to the cancellations department to request a full refund and get another company with better service to insure my vehicle for scratches and dents.
