Mr Munsamy- Compliant regarding Stratum Gap Cover Policy- Misled information/unforeseen expenses
Kindly note that I have been offered a policy by a broker who worked for Stratum and this was for Gap Cover. I was told that the Gap Cover will cover what my Discovery medical aid will not be able to cover. I have confirmed this with him twice and signed documents. I have had 2 instances where I was attended to at hospital and on both occasions my medical aid had asked me to pay upfront before being consulted and I questioned why because I knew I had Gap Cover.
I had called my broker and he advised me that I should pay the amount they ask for and that I will be able to put through a claim at Stratum to get back the amount of R 350 X 2. I had got the receipts from the hospital which I had to use my own fuel since the hospital is a distance from me and I have provided this to Stratum. After 2 occasions of the broker putting through the claim I was told that I do not qualify and my claim is void due to it not being CASUALTY! What does this mean, because I believe if the broker or the company notified us of this, then why would they even consider putting through a claim in the first place?
I have since cancelled my Gap cover as I don’t see it benefiting me and I want my premiums back for misleading information. I have contacted stratum on numerous occasions even via their webchat site when we log on and I was told that they cannot do anything about it.
THIS POLICY WAS SOLD BY THE BROKER ON BEHALF OF STRATUM SO WHY CANT STRATUM CLAIM BACK MY MONEY FROM THE BROKER?????
I AM GOING 1 STEP AHEAD AS I WAS MISLED WITH INFORMATION AND THIS IS FRUSTRATING.
