Do not get Gap cover with Stratum Benefits.

I wouldn't even give you the 1 star. I had Gap Cover through a company I worked for. When I resigned, I was told that I could stay on as an independent person. I completed the paperwork and sent it back. Every month I paid R182. Earlier this year, I injured my knee and had to have MRI's and X-Rays. My gap cover have refused to pay this saying I knew that my policy did not cover short falls. I did not know this as I don't know much about Gap Covers and Medical Aids, I just know I need them. Stratum then opened a new policy which costed the same but had all the extra's. Not one person there called me to do a service call and ask if I would want to move over. When I took the original policy, no one called me to explain that it was not in my best interest and to explain to me and then let me make an informed decision. I am now stuck with a bill for R2,200.00 which I have to pay out of my pocket after I have paid in over R2,700.00 over the last year. When I said I would cancel the policy, I was told that they advise I don't do that. Not one of the staff members has come back to us regarding the complaint, no one as even acknowledged it. I don't get a refund, I get nothing but exceptionally bad service from Stratum Benefits. Would you stay if you were given such bad service AND had to pay in R2,200.00 out of your pocket after paying in every month to a company which you thought would assist you?
