Disappointed with their Service

I have recently joined the Stratum medical scheme. It seemed an affordable option to medical aid. Today I regret that decision. Before going to see the doctor I called to make sure all was well with my policy and asked questions about the doctors I could visit.

I went to see a doctor on their network but spent close to 2hours prior seeing the doctor trying to get authorization. The doctors assistance tried to call to no avail. I ended up using my cellphone trying to get to someone to give us authorization. When we would get through to some they would put me on hold or say they would call back as they needed to call someone else regarding this policy. It has been the most frustrating experience. I've never felt so helpless.

My suggestion to anyone thinking of signing up, don't. Rather invest in the more established medical aids. Apparently it is a known thing that Stratum Benefits takes forever to assist with authorization. I'd rather pay more and know I'll get my money's worth in regards to speedy service. I'll be investigating my options to move to something better.
