Violation of Consumer Rights
On 09/03/2020 I purchased a pair of Blue light computer reading glasses at Strand Pharmacy. When I put them on and looked at the computer screen it became evident that there were minute scratches on the lenses. I took them back to the pharmacy to exchange them, but there were no other pairs of the same colour frame or magnification. I asked for a refund as is my right as a consumer only to be refused. I was told that during times of Covid Essential Pharmacy's policy was one of no money back for returns. My question is, does their policy negate the Consumer Protection Act? I had to phone Head Office who has now found a replacement pair some 63 kilometres away. They would rather bring this replacement pair to me than reimburse me for the R200 I spent on the glasses.
