Stork's nest in it for the cash, not your child.

I arrived 15minutes late to my son's 10 week vaccination appointment. Upon arrival I apologised to the receptionist for being late. Knowing how busy and fully booked the clinic usually is I was relieved when the nurse told us we could wait an hour and the nurses would attend to us after they had lunch. I suggested to my husband that we could go elsewhere since he had to be back at work on a support call but he figured we might as well wait, since we were already there. At 1pm the nurses called us in and vaccinated the child and bid us farewell. I asked if they were not going to measure his weight and height to which she curtly told us we were late therefore our child's growth would not be weighed or discussed. Shocked, my husband asked why we had paid the full consultation of R243 if we were not getting the full service. We did not get a response. As a parent, you look forward to see how your baby has grown and it's important that development milestones are observed and discussed. Weighing a child literally takes a minute and we had to forcefully weigh our child as the nurses stood by with arms folded. We were not told that these services would not be offered to us and there are no signs that state as much on the wall or anywhere in the premises. Had we known we would have rebooked or gone elsewhere. Stork's nest wasted our time and money, which would have been better utilised at a Dischem pharmacy where they are not as busy and the nurses are friendly and take time to discuss baby's milestones( we went to the one in Dainfern Square at our son's 2 week appointment.)If you would like more value for your money and quality service, you're better off at a Dischem. Their vaccinations are cheaper too!
