Storage Paarl security *****
My storage unit at this facility was broken into in November 2023. The CCTV cameras were out of service for at least 3 weeks in November 2023. "Someone" picked my lock and stole 3 x power tools in their original boxes from my unit. 1 x Band saw, 1x Belt sander, 1x Circular saw. My contract states that the facility is monitored via CCTV cameras. Only simetimes, it seems. The security is *****, to say the least. I gave notice and had to pay a calender month to do so, despite the fact that I immediately moved ALL my stuff out into safe storage elsewhere and now have to pay double for my storage over December. I asked for a refund for the December notice month rent. Still waiting for a decision. I think I am being Stalingraded, Zuma style. Will keep you posted.
The ****** goods are gone forever and that hurts, but case closed.
I won't trust ANY storage facility in future and if I absolutely have to I will take out the best possible insurance and buy the most effective non-tamper lock on the market.
Plus read all reviews and call the facility every week to find out it the CCTV cameras are working. It's a minefield out there.
Take photo's of the contents as well.
