Stor-age Brooklyn - deposit has not been refunded, no explanation why

I rented a storage unit at the Stor-age Brooklyn branch. I gave adequate notice via the web link provided that I would be terminating the rental agreement and vacating the unit on 31st December 2022. I eventually received an email that my notice had been received, only after they sent me an invoice for January 2023. I removed my belongings, cleaned the unit and removed the lock as stipulated in the agreement.

Now, after 40 days, I still have not received my R1000 deposit or any communication of me forfeiting it for whatever reason. I emailed the branch but my query is being apparently being ignored. Not only does this go against the Consumer Protection Act but also against their own rental agreement which states that deposits are returned within 14 days.
