Inflexible and not customer oriented.

StorAge Gardens (Cape Town). After 7 months renting one of their biggest units, I gave 21 days notice to vacate on 1st November. They insisted I must vacate on 31st October otherwise I would be charged for the full month of November. Most residential leases commence on 1st of every month. Most customer oriented companies would show some flexibility in this regard. But no, not this lot, that continue hiding behind their "contract". Yet they were happy to charge me on a pro-rata basis when I first rented their unit for the last few days of that particular month. Their area manager doesn't even have the decency to call me. Do not fall for this company's charm. Be aware that they are 100% money driven and have zero care for their customers' interests. Avoid like the plague.

Hi Eric. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As discussed with our team, we have offered you an extension to accommodate your move-in date. Please let us know if we can help further. Thanks, Stor-Age.

Your extension is inadequate, unreasonable and quite frankly laughable. How is one supposed to clear a 24sqm unit packed to the brim with heavy furniture by 10am? When I moved the things into it, it took the removal company with approximately a dozen guys, over 3 hours. The same crew will be attending at 9am to clear the unit, yet you only offer me until 10am. What a joke! Your team were not in the slightest bit interested when I told them my removal guys will be starting at 9am. You don't even have the decency to offer a reasonable extension to 12 noon or 1pm. You guys are basically ripping me off for one full months rent because I need the unit for an extra half of one day! You should be ashamed and embarrassed with the way you've approached this whole matter. Your short sighted, greedy approach speaks volumes about the company you are.

Hi Eric. Thank you for your response. Unfortunately we are unable to extend the time further as we have another tenant who is moving into the unit you are vacating. As you are aware, we request that all customers move out of their unit before the 1st of the month. Thanks, Stor-Age.
