Don't sign up with stor-age if budget is a consideration

<p>Rent keeps increasing multiple times a year, with no notice, no recourse. When you complain, they tell you that storage rental is under-priced in Pretoria, even though they are now 20% more expensive than other suppliers. My rental has more than doubled in just over 2 years!</p> <p> </p> <p>Don't do this to yourself! You can never count on the rental staying within your budget, and when it becomes more and more expensive, you are stuck because they have your belongings and moving it also costs money!</p> <p> </p> <p>I address this review to future potential customers, not Stor-age, because Stor-age has never done anything other than make weak excuses.</p>

Hi Wilma

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us. We had a look through your account and can confirm that there was an initial price adjustment in 2014 to come in line with current market prices. Since then there have been two annual increases, one in 2015 and one in 2016, not exceeding 10% with notice sent to you via email providing ample notice of the intended price adjustment.

Yup, more weak excuses. That "initial price increase" was 70%, and it didn't bring it into line with current market prices, it took it to 25% OVER your competition's price! The "ample notice" was a month - You gave us ONE (1) month to dig several hundred rand extra out of our budgets. Then followed those other single digit, but still WAY over inflation increases. Then there was also a random admin fee that appeared out of no-where, with no notice and no explanation. Don't try to spin this a reasonable annual increases. Reasonable annual increases are inflation related. The fact is - My rental went from R600 to R1250.01 in just over 2 years (Don't forget the 1c!). That's a 108% increase! R1250 would be ******ionate even if it wasn't so cheap such a short while ago! My other unit, that is safer and better located and much less exposed to dust and pests, is under R1000 / month. If I had the time and the means to move my belongings, I'd move out tomorrow! My warning stands - to potential customers - don't sign with Stor-Age unless you can absorb increases like this in your budget!
