Destroyed my property and don’t pay back deposits.

I had a collection of irreplaceable family items thrown out and destroyed ON THE AFTERNOON OF SAME DAY THAT I MOVED OUT IF MY UNIT. When I returned to fetch them, before closing hours, they were gone. There has been zero explanation as to why this happened and has been met with a shrug an an ‘oh well’. What a joke.

Also be advised that you will not get your deposit back unless you put the hours into getting a response from anyone. At the time of writing I have still not received my deposit back and have been repeatedly told that it has been ‘loaded’ and is still pending. Furthermore, if you’re looking to rent a unit for a month don’t forget to immediately cancel your occupancy after signing with them (as if that makes any sense) as they will charge you for another month if they can.

Thanks for taking the time to write to us and for bringing your concerns to our attention. Our team reviewed the CCTV footage from the day you moved out and after placing a torn painting in a clear plastic bag by the bins, you returned your entry tag and left the facility. To return onto premises you would then have had to alert our staff in order to re-enter the property. Video footage and entry tag records indicate that this was not the case. When a customer leaves items in the bin area, which appear to be usable, are in a good condition, or are valuable, we check the CCTV footage to identify the individual and then attempt to contact them to facilitate collection. With regards to the deposit, it was refunded within 14 days as stipulated in the contract. We understand that providing notice to vacate may be an extra administrative task, and this can of course be done along with your move-in process if you know in advance the day will be vacating. Providing notice allows other customers to book a storage unit that would otherwise be unavailable. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please contact the store directly. Thanks, Stor-Age.

You guys are actually on here trying to say that I threw my own items away? That ‘torn painting in a plastic bag’ was in fact a stack of over 30 A0 copper etchings and the fact that you claim to have footage of me throwing them away is hilarious. I don’t even know where the bins are? I’d like a copy of that footage if it wouldn’t be too much effort (god forbid). You have my email address.
