Beware of Stor-Age Roodepoort

I contacted Stor-age via their WhatsApp line for assistance with hiring a 1.5x2m unit for R899 p/m for my huband & I.

I filled out all of the relevant paperwork via the links provided on WhatsApp and was told that all that would be required of me is to pay the relevant deposits and sort out access to the branch/unit. I was provided a SnapScan link for deposits so I needed only to sort out access at the branch.

On the Saturday that followed I went to the branch to sort out access. I was then told that there was still some outstanding paperwork required for finalizing the hiring of the unit. The manager reassured me that most of the information is pre-populated since I had already filled in the online forms.

My husband wasn't with me and I was concerned that I wasted my time going to the branch without him and the unit was being hired in his name. I was reassured that the forms will be emailed since they are signed digitally.

I found out later that the branch used the fact that my husband wasn't present as an opportunity to send him an agreement for a larger unit at a different price.
