Poor service from Stones Plumbing

I hope this review will help someone in the future.

I decided to do business with Stones Plumbing, 9 months after a receiving a quotation to re-do my main water supply line. I contacted Anton, on Thursday 30 January 2020, and asked him if he could come and do the work as quoted. I expected a 10% increase in price as the quote was older that 30 days.

He accepted to do the work, but asked that i pay a 50% deposit. I did a payment the 30th (Thursday night). Anton then sent me a message indicating that due to the fact that the money would only be in his account on Friday evening he cannot start the work on Friday a fact he neglected to tell me on my 1st phone call.

It became apparent to me that he had cash flow issues. I then accommodated him and met him at a ATM the next day and gave the balance of the Quote. In total i had risked R8100, with no service rendered. I trusted he would not let me down.

His team started work on Friday 31 January. I through that was solved and the work would be completed as agreed. Noooooo. 11:00 his team asked for me and informed me that they don`t have enough parts to complete the work. I called Anton, and he played victim saying that prices have increased substantially and that the quote was now not in line with work required. So i had to spend an additional R2 400 to get the job done. On Friday afternoon they were still not complete with the task. The workmanship was poor and my walls are a disaster due to inexperienced drilling.

Mr. Anton promised to be back on Monday 2 February 2020 to complete the job. Allasssss Monday came and went, Tuesday came and went. When i called him, he indicated that he was not able to come and complete the work as he had cash flow issues. He also indicated to me that he believed he completed his end of the deal.

At not point was he willing to reconsider his position.

I then had to get another team to complete the task.

In total a R9000 job became R12500.

I am very disappointed in the service received and would not recommend Stone`s Pluming services to anyone. .
