Stonehaven On Vaal

<p>This place on the Vaal River almost seems to have a soul! It is set in a sort of country river setting, not one of those plastic modern venues, trying to impress. They are themselves and proudly own it. It is an unusual combination of rustic, vintage but quite lovely. As you walk in you hear running water, see geese and ducks having fun in the ponds and a feel good feeling just comes over one. There are even random chickens walking around with their baby chics. Their gardens are full of character.</p> <p>Stonehaven seems to be very child and dog friendly. The kids have the option of loads of things to do, all healthy things vs sitting in front of a computer. I also saw people taking their dog down to their slipway where he enjoyed a dip in the river. They even have a doggies menu.</p> <p>Staff are friendly and kind and go out of their way to add little touches to make you feel special and really at home.</p> <p>They deserve a positive mention for making people feel good about life, just being there.</p>
