Poor service / questionable judgement

I found Samantha, from Stone Pools, on Gumtree and called her out to fix a small leak on one of the pipes leading off from the filter. She was able to come out on the same day, which was great as I was off on holiday the following day for two weeks. Upon returning form holiday, I realised that my pump was running dry whilst I was away as Stone Pools had changed the setting on the multi-port valve to 'close'. Upon confronting her on this, they claim they never use this setting albeit they being the last ones working / touching the pool system. I asked her to come out to validate what the problem was and, without coming out, she sent me a quote for R4,200 for a new pump claiming that my pump had seized. They quoted on the wrong size pump and were unable to tell me which model pump they were quoting on either. I informed her that I'd buy the pump and requested that Stone Pools 'comp' the installation. She was offended and told me that my insurance will simply pay for the pump (which was also incorrect). I thought that I was meeting Stone Pools more than half way but after this all communication stopped. Not trusting her judgement further, I engaged with another pool company who came out to resolved the problem, which had nothing to do with the pump and cost me substantially less. Stone Pools took no responsibility of the work they had done, shut off communication channels when they disagreed and, in my opinion, are not very knowledgeable.
