Fustrating pool repair experience

I was looking for someone in the Cape Town region to repair a leak in my pool. I tried a couple of more well-known companies and was not getting any traction. So I responded to an advert on Gumtree for people that repair and maintain pools. As I was a bit nervous about using them I tried finding reviews, but there were none (hence the reason for writing this one). As they were the only one responding I thought to go ahead and use them. It was a challenge from the start, when I was first accused of not wanting to use them as the person I spoke to was a woman – insinuating that I was a **********. However, they were on site relatively quickly, unearthed the leak (not too difficult as I told them where it was) and they fixed it. Other than her spending most of her time talking about herself, everything was going ok. The when it came to putting the pavement back, this is where the problem started. The lady initially said she would fill everything with sand and compact it, but when it came to it she was in so much of a hurry, they asked my wifes opinion on whether they can use the soggy soil they extracted to get the leak, which she agreed to, not knowing the impact. Needless to say when I got home the bricks were pretty much floating on soil that was more like jelly . I contacted her to find out why she did not try and stabilise the base and she immediately went onto the offensive and said I was using delaying tactics to pay - this was still on the same day she left the site. She also kept referring to my wife agreeing to use the soggy soil, even though she is supposed to be the professional and know what best to use to fill the hole. Over the course of 2 days I was threatened with her husband coming personally to my house to collect the money and continued narrative on how good a job they did and I was just delaying the payment on purpose. All I was expecting was for her to come to the house and see the issue I was having and attempt to rectify it and the improve customer experience I was having. This did not happen. The sad thing is that the workmanship to fix the leak was pretty good and I was and still am satisfied with it. It is just the absolutely poor service and terrible attitude that I got afterwards that really disappointed me.
