Stock Market College reap off

Hello Peter, I opened a trading account with stock market College for trading. Signed up for a contract paying for just over R1000/month for the study material and course as well as as R249 monthly account fee. After months of heavy, unjustified losses I decided to cancel the account as it was merely not making anything. Contacted SMC to cancel the contract and not only were the consultants rude but lack experience in anything. The initial payment on the contract ballooned to R28000.00 without any explanation. Furthermore SMC kept on contacting and harassing me regarding the R249/month. I never attended their course, never received any training material and canceled the so called trading account. Why must I pay for a service that I no longer use. I received summons saying that I owe them R8000 in installments

Hi Chris

I believe you are not clear on what you purchased. You purchased a stock market course. It is both online study as well as attending lectures should you wish to do so. Monday through to Saturday.

SMC assisted with the opening of your trading account, which was funded. It is important that you know we track the attendance of our clients at lectures as well as their access of our online training.

The only thing you have had done is have your software installed and connected to all our FB groups. You also receive QuickTrade's trade ideas.

You have not attended orientation, nor any of the 6 days of lectures we offer, nor any online training.

You traded Forex and one local share - without any knowledge, making money or understanding these markets, making money becomes a challenge. Based on your exit and entry levels, you did not use your risk calculator. We cover this in the chapter Risk Management and Trading Strategy. It is also loaded onto your preferred device when you have your Trading Platform installed by our Support team. I requested Tafara the broker to call you, but since March this year, as per our CRM system, your phone has gone to voicemail. We also have no record of you having called in for assistance, not to the College, nor QuickTrade. The number we have on our system is an 078.. number, not the 081 as stated here. Your email address is the same and our trade ideas have been sent to this email.

Based on the fact that you have chosen to pay off your course, you have still not completed this payment and therefore your request for the cancellation of your instalment agreement has been declined. The R249 is the balance of your purchase which is R8964 elected to be paid over 36 months.

I have asked that Tafara call you to discuss your trades on your new number and assist you with any questions. Your account has been handed over for non-payment. You may call Margaret in Credit Control should you wish to discuss your account.

Regards

Reviewer Update
Zelda, As a consumer, why should I pay for a service that I do not use? Your product is borderline ********** and you co-exist through ************ and vile threats. If your terms of use state that one pays for a monthly fee while using the product then why must one continue when they have stopped using the product? I paid R25 000.00 for a useless course I never attended which does not even have a single positive review or let alone proven success. All these communications you claim to send me are nothing compared to what I have lost because they're just simply futile. I want every consumer to know that your company is a *******, you prey on innocent consumers. I'm just but one of thousands of consumers who have been ********** unknowingly and no consumer deserves to lose their hard earned money to a bogus operation called Stock Market College. Thank you.
