Empty Promises and Unreliable

My couch was chewed up by my dog.

After many months of looking around for companies or people that can repair leather furniture, I found two. A lady that quoted me X and a guy that quoted me a bit cheaper. I asked around about them both, and naturally the cheaper one had bad comments, but I decided to give it a shot anyway.

His name is Uzayr and his offices are located in Irwinton Road, in Sea Point. Just off Kloof Road, JUST after the split into Regent and Kloof.

He came to the house, saw the furniture and immediately began speaking about how easy and simple and quick he could complete the repairs in. In addition also asked me if I would be interested in repairing a few other household items, like my antique brass table, and cushions for my dining room chairs.

After receiving my couch back, WITHOUT THE LEGS, I proceeded to pay him the final payment, without a slip. In addition, I have not received my cushions, which I paid for, IN FULL. After receiving the legs for the couch, I noticed many defects in the leather and in the headrests and brackets. I called him back to re-polish the leather and it took him three weeks until he managed to "source" the polish and come to the house to do it. Bear in mind, I live 1km away from his office. The bracket is still broken, 3 months later I am still unable to use my couch to its full potential because the bracket is broken and the headrest cannot be put down.

3 months later, in addition, I am still waiting for the cushions for my chairs, which is already paid. When we phone him, he always rushes off the phone by speaking and not letting me have a say. Always promising to come "tomorrow" "tomorrow" "tomorrow", and tomorrow never comes.

I have a friend at the newspapers in the media that is waiting for the go ahead from me. Decided to try this first.

He doesnt have a bank account. Insisted that I pay him cash, and even then, he tries to avoid giving receipts.

DO NOT USE THIS GUY. HE IS A **** AND HE WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. UNRELIABLE AND FULL OF ****.
