ALVA Poor quality product : Stingray Group

<p>ALVA (Part of The Stingray Group according to Alan who confirmed this when I spoke to him today at 16:00) supplies a gas heater which they label as a "luxury product". The only real visible difference between this "luxury product" and their plain dark grey/black gas heater is the actual colour. I have had this unit for less than a month and it has discoloured badly on the front which is obviously due to the heat generated. When Mr Damian Lackay ((Senior Service Technician) contacted me he said that this is not normal and can occur if dirty gas is being used or due to...wait for it..."over use". According to Udistine Hendricks (Customer Service Administrator ) the unit can discolour if "over used" What is over use of a gas heater? Is it not intended to be used? If so, and it is really cold does it mean it can only be used for 2 hours a day or something like that? Is the "over use" got something to do if used on the higher setting for too long? This is a heater and is intended for use when you are cold!!!! Also...remember this is a luxury item according to ALVA and is purchased to look "pretty" and possibly blend in with your other items in the room where you intend to use it. If they are aware of it discolouring when being, as they state, "over used" is it not a quality or design problem? Why have a white/ivory painted finish if it will discolour anyway. This is also an item which is quite a bit more expensive than the standard item. This is NOT a luxury product and you should be ashamed of yourselves taking custommers hard earned money if you clearly know that the unit will become discoloured and ugly after use....sorry..."over use".</p>
