Alva cube aircooler issue

I Bought 3 Alva Air Coolers. Items were delivered on the 9th of March 2021 via TakeAlot. A call was logged with Stingray (pty) Alva on the 19th March 2021 to report 2 defective items.

According to the Stingray policy - if an item is reported defective within 14 days. They will gladly collect the items. I was NOT rendered this service and was instead requested to deliver the defective items to the Head Quarters in to 5 Beach Road, Woodstock, Cape Town.

The items were delivered on Friday 26 March 2021. 2 hours after delivery I received a call from the service department supervisor advising me that there is absolutely no issue with the items and I may collect the items again.

I bought 3 units of which only one works without issues. It is thus easy for me to compare the units and identify if one (or two) are not working as they should.

The vent on the one was clearly not working as it did not hold up when moved and kept on falling flat. How it was working when it got to the service department is completely beyond miraculous.

The second item was leaking water after use. We used it and switched it off. The next morning, the remaining water that was in the top compartment had leaked out all over my wifes desk. This also the place which her work laptop stands, which she is responsible for.

When my wife advised me of the faults, I then tested the unit myself by filling it up with water, switching it and allowing it to run for a while. Thereafter I left the remaining water in the vessel overnight. The next morning I found water in the bottom tray. This was a clear indication to me that the unit was faulty and it did not happen per accident the 1st time. Also, the other unit (which works well) had water remaining in the top compartment that did not leak to the bottom. As a technician myself, I did a comparison between 2 items to confirm the fault.

I believe the service department is trying to give me completely different units in pretence that it is the one's we booked in.

Why can I say this with confidence? Firstly, according to the service supervisor, they "do not have equipment to TEST those particular units" (words from the horses mouth). Secondly, they "replace those units when its faulty" and thirdly, when I booked the items in I was not given confirmation of the book-in. No serial numbers of the items were recorded. I was not given any confirmation of what I delivered. This all seems extremely convenient when the service manager says that he can guarantee that the units I will collect will work and has no issues with it. Why would Stingray go through all of this effort? Well based on their policy, if the service department finds a fault on the devices the client is eligible for a refund.

I am asking for a refund on these items since I am not willing to take another risk of letting an air cooler stand on my desk and potentially leak due factory defect.
