Horrible Weekend

What was supposed to be an awesome weekend, celebrating a big birthday and spending time with family and friends while relaxing next to the bright clean pools of the resort, turned out quite the opposite.

When we got to our chalet on Friday night, we were very disappointed. First, no TV was in our chalet as advertised on their web page due to a lightning strike and being sent in for repairs. Hey, it's mother nature, thus it didn't bother us that much as we were there to spend time as family and friends.

Then we were looking for the promised ceiling fans, none found. Luckily Gerhard told us to perhaps bring our own fan in case. However, while looking for a plug at the sleeping area upstairs, there was no power point at all... and guess what, no extension cord on site either... But hey, we tried to make the best of it and decided to move the matress downstairs in the lounge where there is a power point.

Then my daughter found a 500ml half drunk bottle of cold drink on the top bunk bed. But we didn't think much and just threw it away as the cleaner might have forgotten her cold drink there. Later on, while our kids were playing on the top bunk, they discovered something... on close investigation we found it was a piece of meat left there... don't even want to know how long it was there though... But still we tried to make the best of the weekend.

Next morning we woke up and was so excited for the day and utilising the awesome facilities that we indeed paid for... but that changed quite drastically due to an influx of loud day visitors moving between our chalets and surrounding our chalet with loud music (which is NOT ALLOWED as per notice when you get into the resort).

What made it worse was the fact that when we came back from the shops to get the last bit of things for the day, we found our chalet's table was removed from it and taken over by the day visitors.

Luckily we had friends / family that lives in Witbank and we could at least move our party there.

We hardly packed our car to leave to the family, when our braai area was also taken over by day visitors.

On arrival back from the outing, there were bottles and ******* all over as the day visitors couldn't find the decency to use the ******* bins provided all over for them (at least one thing Steve's Place did right).

The next morning, the horror started all over again! Loud music, loud crowds, etc.

We gave the last opportunity for this place to redeem themselves and tried to at least go and have a drink at the bar before we leave our seperate ways again on Sunday and the two small kiddies just had their feet in the pool bar (not even splashing or swimming) while we were chilling, when we were approached by security who requested us to take the children away from the pool as it is not allowed. When we asked him about the loud music that was also not allowed, but yet still being played by the day visitors, he advised that they cannot control that and do not want to cause a riot as he 'values' his life!

So disgusted with the place and day visitors there! I will never recommend this place to even my biggest enemy nor will I ever visit this place again!

At least the experience with Gerhard was very pleasant, however the security cannot do their jobs and control the crowds of day visitors!

They should perhaps look at making a seperate area for the day visitors so that the people who actually paid for the facilities for a weekend get their money's worth!
