SAC East Rand – Dishonest and *****ulent

I would like to warn people in advanced not to ever go to SAC East Rand. All together they have cost me 100’s of thousands of rands.

Firstly, when you send you vehicle there for a service, they misplace your service book, and conveniently replace it with a new one from SAC, regardless to your services history….

Secondly, I did a ‘’chip’’ on my Land Cruiser, right from the start that conversion was giving problems and letting the car go in to Limp mode.

Then…. The BIG BIG problem, on my Ford Transit, also a ‘’Chip conversion” suggested by SAC, costing me my complete engine, and again, what did SAC say, Oh sorry. Sorry will mos fix the engine.

After putting in a new engine, SAC said we need to do a Diff ratio Modification, with this we will have to put in a new Crown wheel and pinion with extra modifications, and this will cost R53,596.00 (Incl. vat), I agreed, and the new gears and modification was done.

After having numerous problems with the vehicle, we decided to change all the modifications back to standard. Only then, we realized that NO Diff modification as suggested and paid for R53k was ever done. A different Crown wheel and pinion was installed, but no modifications was done, the rest was all stock standard.

I got hold of the costing invoice for this Diff modification that was done, it only cost SAC R29,400.00 (Incl. vat), they then did a mark up of 90%, knowing that they did not even do what was quoted and paid for. THIS I find to be dishonest and *****ulent.

I did try to resolve this matter with SAC, and again they just say Sorry, and like always the responsible person is no longer with the company.

With this entry on Hello Peter, I really hope that people will think twice, before considering any service of vehicle repairs at SAC.
