Passing the buck

I took my Golf 6 TDI to SAC last year about May 2015 to calibrate my exhaust system due to a fault on the ECU
Some thing happened and they damaged the ECU and claimed from their Insurance for a new one.
In around November 2015 (just had my Golf back for 3 months) it just cut out in our Main Road.
I phone SAC to please tow me in because I had a guarantee. The said unfortunately they have to charge me for the tow in. Somebody then helped me tow my vehicle to a workshop across the street.

They opened the ECU that was in a PLASTIC PACKET. But could not help me. They run the ECU for faults and there was too much. My insurance towed it to SAC. We send it for testing and this new ECU was rusted and water damaged (due to plastic packet, what else?) Now because somebody opened the the ECU they dont want to take responsibility for 3 month old water damaged ECU.
