DO NOT USE!!!

I would like to change my previous review, with the following:

If it wasn't compulsory to give a star, I wouldn't have, because SAC doesn't deserve even 1!

I took my car - a Mercedes-Benz C200 CDI Classic - to Steve's Auto Clinic (SAC) in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, to only have the brake fluid replaced and the brakes to be bled. The quote for this, was R1001.00. According to them, they did this. On the invoice I received when went to fetch my car (the first time), I was only charged for the brake fluid - less than R75.00 - and not for any labour for bleeding the brakes. Nearly R7k later, the skimming of the front brake disks and smoothing of the pads - done when they allegedly replaced the brake fluid and bled the brakes - and the replacement of the rear brake disk and brake shoes, I got a call from them, stating that the problem with my car's brakes, is the fact that the brake booster is faulty and it needs to be replaced. To do this, they gave me a telephonic quoted for +R6k for labour - I assume it excludes V.A.T. - and the cost of the part, which is only available from MB. I contacted MB and got a telephonic quote for the brake booster. It was R12340.00. Again I assume that it excludes V.A.T. This means that the job would have cost me +R18340.00, excluding V.A.T. Add the V.A.T. to this and the cost is +R21091.00.

Because I didn't trust SAC's diagnoses, I decided to fetched my car from them and took it to the Mercedes-Benz in Centurion. Their tests revealed, that there is nothing wrong with my car's brake booster. What MB DID find, is that the brake fluid, was "milky" - a sign that it is NOT pure and there might be water in it. THIS, AFTER SAC WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID AND BLED THE BRAKES - THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTION!

If I knew what I was in for when I took my car to SAC the first time, what I know now, I would NEVER have taken my car there. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend ANYONE, to take a car to SAC for ANYTHING. They will definitely NEVER see me again, except when I take them on... LEAGALLY... because that is EXACTLY what I intend to do. I STRONGLY recommend EVERYBODY who had similar experiences with SAC, to what I had, to do so as well. They CANNOT be allowed to rip people off and ignore instructions, without having to face the consequences of their actions. We MUST stand together, to get them out of the business, of vehicle repairs.
