Steves Auto Clinic: Centurion (Park Avenue)

In September 2022, I took my beloved Ford Ranger 3.2 (2019 model) to Steves Auto Clinic (SAC) for tuning, hoping to enhance its power and performance. While I initially had some doubts, I must say that my experience turned out to be truly impressive! SAC's experts uploaded new software and installed a fantastic 76mm exhaust system, which significantly improved the vehicle's performance.

Since my Ford service plan had expired, I decided to entrust SAC with my Ranger's 75,000km service. During this visit, their service advisor informed me that the turbo needed replacement and wouldn't last much longer. There had been an increasing turbo high-pitch whine that caught my attention as well. The advisor suggested upgrading to a hybrid turbo, slightly larger and more robust than the original one, which was reputedly unreliable and prone to seizing up in this model.

Despite the higher cost, I took their advice and went ahead with the replacement. The process involved rebuilding the old turbo into the hybrid, and they estimated it would take about three days. I admit that the communication during this time was a bit frustrating, with multiple calls and reasons for delays. It ended up taking a week, but in hindsight, it was all worth it.

As I waited, I browsed through some negative reviews on Hello Peter, which did concern me initially. However, once the work was completed, I was relieved and a little embarrassed by my earlier doubts. The job done was of exceptional quality, and my Ranger's performance was back to its best, just like before the turbo issue arose.

When it comes to recommending SAC, I wholeheartedly say YES! Despite some communication hiccups, their professionalism in their work is evident. I understand that they handle a large volume of vehicles daily, making it challenging to update every client all the time. Nevertheless, they did an excellent job, and I would gladly vouch for them to anyone who asks.
