Warrentee Product

Bought the Ryobi 5.5Kw Generator. Used it 3 times had it 6 months. It stopped working. Engine runs but no power output. Took it to Makro as it was under warranty (2 year). After 6 weeks Makro informed me that Stevens & Co refuses to repair the unit under warranty and charges me R4800 to fix it.

Their reason the generator was overloaded. This was disputed as the maximum draw ever put on the generator NEVER exceeded 4Kw. Even if there was an overload surely the generator has a cut off to protect itself.

However Eric the Service manager first informed me that the engine was burnt out. When I disputed this, he changed the story and said something else is burning, Again I challenged him and he said that he will have to look at the generator again. I have spoken to Makro this morning and they told me I am still being charged but Stevens & Co will charge me less.

This is a warranty repair, below is the repair note number *** from Makro Germiston, they have been helpfull so far
