UNREASONABLE WARRANTY

So I bought 2 Ryobi 36cc chainsaws which I have given my guys to clear a few small trees from my garden. The guys have used the saws for a few days, I purchased them on a Sunday (28 AUGUST) and they started using it on a Tuesday, the following Tuesday the chainsaws stopped working and subsequently returned to the store a day later as I was away on business and my gardener could only go the following day. I have owned the two items for a total of 8 days, I am then told the supplier (Stevens & Co) says the item has been over used, and I will be charged R684.00 for repairs on one of the chainsaws. How could you possibly overuse an item in 6 days? Even if it was used for 24 hours straight how could 6 days constitute overuse in such a short time frame ?

I then call and I speak to someone at the front desk, he agrees with me that the saw should not break in such a short period of time and he will speak to the technician (Cudos to that person, sorry can't remember your name, but thank you). Whilst you people sort out your story, I am still at a loss of R3500 which was paid fo the chainsaws.

I cannot believe the different versions of stories I receive.

Absolutely pathetic!!!
